Ferris Wheel

Time for some fun on a Ferris Wheel! With the better weather coming some of us might get a chance to go on one of these soon. This latest digital stamp set by Beccy Muir is called 'Ferris Wheel'.
You can find out what the rest of the design team have created by visiting Beccy's Place Blog.

For my first project (image above) I decided to alter the cover of one of my sketch books. I will be using it outdoors so thought it was best to make it look good.
Decided that the Ferris Wheel image was going to fit on an ATC size topper so printed it out to fit that size of card. The image was coloured with alcohol markers and the background with high-low acrylic paints. The background of the ATC was also coloured with the acrylic paints. The cover was first stencilled with left design in silver paint. It was then stamped with a swirl in gold. Then modelling paste was added through a stencil  and glimmer powder on top as it was wet. Once dried the topper with the image was added to the cover.

For the second project I made this card. The image of the Ferris Wheel from the digital set was printed onto white card. The image was coloured with alcohol markers and then sprayed with glimmer mist. The image was die cut and layered onto silver mirri card. The sentiment is from the 'Ferris Wheel' digital set as well.

Have a great day.

Spring Chicken again!

As promised here are the two other cards that I made with the  new digital stamp set 'Spring Chicken' by Beccy Muir! You can find this set and many more in Beccy's Place Shop.

The first card above used one of the images from the Spring Chicken set but copied and placed one image in front of the other. I used a photo-editing software to do this.  Once it was printed onto white card, I used pencils and alcohol markers to colour them. The sentiment is also from the Spring Chicken digi set.

I went a bit simple with this card. The image and the sentiment from the 'Spring Chicken' digital set is just perfect together! The image and sentiment were printed out and the image coloured with alcohol markers and pencils.

Hope you liked my cards using the Spring Chicken set of digi stamps by Beccy Muir!

Spring Chicken time!!! This new digital stamp set called 'Spring Chicken' by Beccy Muir is just too funny!!! The images and sentiments that are included in the set are just perfect.  You will find yourself using these images time and time again, I know I will!

The card above is the first of three which I made using the 'Spring Chicken' digital stamp set. You can find more inspiration on Beccy's Place Blog. This fist card started with printing one of the images from the Spring Chicken set and one of the sentiments. The image was coloured using pencils . The yellow and green background was done with acrylic highflow inks. The blue background was done by using pearl paint, then stencils were using and an embossing folder.

Hope you like the first one, there are two more to come!

Back to Basics and Beyond Challenge #3- One sheet wonder

Back to Basic and Beyond #3  theme is 'One Sheet Wonder Cards'. Basically we are asking you to used one sheet of 12 inches x 12 inches paper (or card stock) and make as many cards as you can , must be at least to. There are lots of  diagrams on Pinterest  that you can use but we have given you one to start with.

For my cards I used a lovely sheet of paper from one of my many 12 x 12 paper packs. It was fun trying to use one only sheet of paper. As you can see from the photo I manged to get 6 cards from my sheet.

Really looking forward to seeing what you create. There are lots of inspiration from the rest of the DT on the Back to Basic and Beyond blog.

Blooming Tools

A new month which means time for some new released from Beccy Muir. This first set of photopolymer stamps is called 'Blooming Tools' and is perfect for any male or female who enjoy a bit of DIY.

As you can see I made three very different cards with my 'Blooming Tools' stamp set. I am certain you can find may other ways to used them. You will find more inspiration for the rest of the design team on Beccy's Place Blog. There is also a monthly competition on the blog and a free digital stamp.

My first card above began with stamping the larger image from the Blooming Tools set onto white card and cut out with a die. The image was then coloured with alcohol markers and pencils. The background was made using Brushos, paste, paint and stamps. The card shape was made using a Tattered lace die.

The second card started with the background. Used several colours of Brusho crystals and once dried stamped images from 'Blooming Tools' set, with black and gold ink. The main image was stamped and coloured with alcohol markers and a bit of pencil.

This third card was the simplest of the lot. The background was made by spraying with green and blue glimmer mist and letting it dry. Once dried I stamped one of the images from the 'Blooming Tools' set all over and cut out an aperture. Stamped and coloured the same image from the 'Blooming Tools' stamp set as the main focal point of the card.

For those in the UK the cost of shipping from Australia is not very much and the stamps do arrived very quickly. (My personal view)

Have a great day and thanks for the visit.

Messy fun

What a joy it is to just play! Started with the messy stuff first, which is the fun bit. Started with a sheet of white card, sprinkled Brusho crystals and added water. Once dried I used a stencil and added some paint and then inks. Then various stamps from Beccy Muir, Club Scrap and Third Coast stamps were used to over stamp the colour layer. White acrylic was used to highlight parts of the background. The train (Third Coast image) was stamped and coloured with alcohol markers. The sentiment is from a stamp set by Beccy Muir.

Enjoy the lovely weather!!!

Back to Basic and Beyond Challenge #2

Wonderful news I have been accepted to be a DT member for  the Back to Basic and Beyond Challenge. I really think this is a great idea to help new and experienced crafts try new and old techniques.

The second challenge is Use a CD or Papercraft kit. I have used a free CD from Crafters Companion to create this card.  The base was made by layering a background colour and then the wreath and then the flower. The main image was printed again and cut out.
Hope that  you will join us in this new challenge.

Drawing with oil pastels

Started a Drawing and Painting diploma recently. Not had any formal art training so I am very excited to be doing this course. Sharing my first drawing using oil pastels. Bought a starter set of Sennelier oil pastels, they are wonderful to work with, so creamy! Hubby just bought me a 72 piece set for my birthday, what a great guy!

Tea Time!

Welcome to a new release by Beccy Muir, called Tea Time! This new digital stamp set 'Tea Time' has several really pretty images you can use all year round. You also get great sentiments along with the coloured and black and white images. You can find more inspiration for the rest of the design team on Beccy's Place Blog.

My two creations using the Tea Time digital stamp set are very different.

For the card (first image) I combined the bear image and the single tea cup image to create the image on the card. I printed the combined image once and the bear image on it's own. The images were coloured with alcohol pens and pencils and then layered. The sentiment was printed separately and added to the finished card.

For my second creation I used the tea cup stack from the Tea Time set. The image and sentiment were printed onto white card and coloured with alcohol markers. The background of the hanger was made by cutting and punching a rectangle of grey-board and base coating it with a purple glimmer paint. Once dried I used a stencil and added the raised flower image. Once that was dried I used another stencil and added the other image using silver glimmer paint. Used a strip of grey-board at the top of the hanger as well. Once dried the main image and the various die cuts were added to the hanger.

Hope the liked the projects and feel inspired to create something.

More flowers

Card one

card two

As promised here are the two other cards made with the beautiful Geums stamp set by Beccy Muir. I so admire Beccy Muir's drawing skills, just wonderful!

For card one, I used the main Geum image for the Geums set. The image was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. Water colours were used to colouring in the image. It is very different from the card for yesterday and the second card for today. It shows how versatile this Geums stamps set can be.

The second card today was a bit more involved to create. The background was made first using the single flower head stamps and one of the sentiment from the Geums set. I used two different shades of dye ink. Once dried I used a die to cut a patter into the middle of the card. The main flower image from the Geums set was stamped and coloured with pencils and cut out. Various dies were used to make the bow and layers for the sentiment.

Hope that my creations have inspired you to at least take a look at Beccy's Blog to see what the rest of the DT have created with this Geums set.
